Our local schools serving Kentfield and Greenbrae are among the best in California because we have exceptional teachers, challenging academic programs, and strong support from the community. KSD provides our students with a well-rounded education that prepares them for success in high school, college, and future careers.
However, local funding our schools have relied upon since 1987 is set to expire unless voters approve Measure C.
Without Measure C, KSD will lose over $5 million annually - nearly 25% of its budget. KSD has already made budget adjustments without eliminating teachers or academic programs, but there is no more nonessential spending to cut. If local parcel tax funding expires, extensive teacher and school staff layoffs, cuts to academic programs, and increases in class sizes will be required.
Voting YES on C renews local school funding to prevent deep budget cuts and continue funding for:
Maintaining strong core programs in math, science, reading, writing, and technology
Attracting and retaining highly qualified teachers
Preventing class size increases to preserve individual attention and strong student outcomes
Mandatory Local Control & Fiscal Accountability
All Measure C funds go directly to our local elementary school and middle school and cannot be taken away by the state or federal government
